We like Airbit. JDTB uploads to it on every plan we ship, and we have producers using both products together every day. This page is here because producers asked for a clean side-by-side, not because we think Airbit is the wrong choice. If anything below is inaccurate, please let us know and we will fix it.
Product overview
What is Airbit?
A beat marketplace and producer storefront. Producers upload tracks, set licence tiers, and sell to buyers who browse the Airbit marketplace or land on the producer's custom store. Airbit owns the buyer experience: search and filters, electronically signed contracts, payments through PayPal and Stripe, YouTube Content ID monetisation, splits, soundpack sales, and free-download social unlocks.
What is Just Drop The Beat?
A multi-platform upload tool. Drop a WAV or MP3 with a cover image once, and JDTB renders the right cover crop and video format per platform, then pushes the beat to BeatStars, Airbit, YouTube, SoundCloud, TikTok, Instagram, and TrakTrain in one pass. A small Chrome extension drives Airbit, BeatStars, and SoundCloud, which have no public upload API.
Different categories of product
The clearest way to think about this comparison: Airbit and JDTB sit at different layers of the producer stack.
- Airbit is a destination. It is where buyers go to find and purchase beats. It owns the storefront, the licensing engine, and the payout. It is one of the platforms a serious producer wants their catalogue listed on, alongside BeatStars and TrakTrain.
- JDTB is the pipeline. It sits between your finished WAV and every platform you want that beat on, including Airbit. It does not host your store, take payments, or own buyer relationships. It moves your beat onto the platforms that do, with platform-correct metadata and assets.
Asking "Airbit or JDTB?" is a bit like asking "Spotify or DistroKid?". They are not the same thing. The honest answer for most producers is: use Airbit as one of your marketplaces, and use JDTB to get every beat onto Airbit (and the rest) without filling out the form by hand.
Side by side
The table below focuses on what most producers are actually comparing: where each tool gets your beat in front of listeners, and how much of the social side it does for you. The marketplace and licensing layer is folded into one short section at the end, because that is Airbit's home turf and not what JDTB is trying to replace.

Where Airbit wins
If you only need a beat marketplace and storefront, Airbit is doing things JDTB does not try to do.
Owns the buyer experience
Search, filters, custom store, marketplace profile, and a public producer page that buyers land on. JDTB does not host any of that.
Licensing engine
Electronically signed contracts on every sale, multiple licence tiers per beat, and the legal scaffolding around exclusives. Selling beats well needs this; JDTB does not provide it.
0% marketplace commission
On the free Basic tier, Airbit takes no marketplace commission. Only payment processor fees apply. That is genuinely producer-friendly.
Splits, Content ID, and soundpacks
Co-producer splits paid out automatically, YouTube Content ID claims for monetisation, and soundpack sales as a second revenue stream. All Airbit-native features.
Where Just Drop The Beat wins
If your bottleneck is getting every new beat onto every platform a producer cares about, JDTB is doing things Airbit does not try to do.
Seven platforms from one upload
Airbit, BeatStars, YouTube, SoundCloud, TikTok, Instagram, and TrakTrain. One metadata pass, one cover image, one click. Airbit only ships to its own marketplace, with a YouTube auto-post and a TikTok draft you finish on your phone — Instagram and SoundCloud are not in the mix.
Per-platform video and cover
FFmpeg runs in your browser. A long-form video for YouTube and the Instagram feed, a vertical hook for TikTok and Reels — each one rendered to land first time on its platform. Cover renders in the right size and crop for each platform too.
Bulk upload and upload flows
Drop a folder of fifty beats and let JDTB run them through every platform. Save reusable flows for free drops, paid drops, beat tapes, or back catalogue migrations. Airbit's upload form is one-at-a-time.
Drives marketplaces with no public API
BeatStars, Airbit, and SoundCloud all have no public upload API. JDTB drives them through a small Chrome extension, in your own logged-in session. Airbit is one of the destinations, not a substitute.
Free Starter tier, no credit card
Ten uploads a month across every supported platform. Pro is £10/$14 a month for unlimited uploads, Premium is £13/$18 a month for scheduled releases, watermarks, and priority support.
Which one fits you?
Three honest cases:
- You only sell beats on Airbit and that is the whole strategy. Use Airbit on its own. The free Basic tier with 0% marketplace commission and twenty uploads is genuinely the friendliest free offer on the market for a producer just starting to sell. JDTB would not add much if Airbit is your only destination.
- You sell on Airbit and BeatStars, and you want YouTube, SoundCloud, TikTok, and Instagram presence. Use both. Keep your Airbit storefront and licence engine. Use JDTB to push every new beat into Airbit alongside BeatStars, YouTube, SoundCloud, TikTok, Instagram, and TrakTrain in one upload, with the right video and cover for each.
- You have a back catalogue of fifty or more beats sitting on a hard drive. JDTB is the bigger lever. Bulk upload runs the whole catalogue through every platform, Airbit included, in days rather than months. Once they are up, Airbit handles the storefront and the licence paperwork as buyers come in.
Our verdict
Airbit and JDTB are not really competing for the same job. Airbit is one of the best beat marketplaces for selling, with a 0% commission free tier, a strong licensing engine, and a producer-friendly storefront. JDTB is the pipeline that gets your beat onto Airbit and six other platforms in one upload, with platform-correct video and metadata. Most serious producers end up using both. The only producers who pick one over the other are those who genuinely only care about a single platform, and those producers are usually undercounting how much of their growth comes from the platforms they are not yet on.
