Comparison

Music 2 Tube vs Just Drop The Beat

Two tools, two ideas. Music 2 Tube is a desktop app for turning MP3s and images into YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, and Reels videos, with direct multi-channel YouTube uploads. Just Drop The Beat is a web app that ships one upload to seven beat platforms. A fair side-by-side on platforms, video features, pricing, and which one fits which producer.

Music 2 Tube is a polished, well-reviewed product with a clear point of view about what producers need from a video tool. We disagree on which step matters most in the producer workflow, but we want to represent it honestly. If you spot anything inaccurate on this page, please let us know and we will fix it.

Product overview

What is Music 2 Tube?

A native desktop app for Windows and macOS (Apple Silicon) that turns MP3 or WAV audio plus a JPG, PNG, or GIF image into a finished video for YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, and Reels. It can bulk-render videos, schedule them, and upload directly to up to five connected YouTube channels on the Lifetime plan. Visual extras include blurred backgrounds, VHS and grain overlays, GIF animation, and watermarking.

What is Just Drop The Beat?

A web app that takes one upload (audio plus cover) and ships it to BeatStars, Airbit, YouTube, SoundCloud, TikTok, Instagram, and TrakTrain. Video is generated client-side in the format each platform expects. A small Chrome extension drives BeatStars and Airbit because those platforms have no public upload API. One metadata pass, fan-out to every platform, no retyping the same fields seven times.

The two different bets

Music 2 Tube and JDTB are pointed at different parts of the producer workflow:

  • Music 2 Tube bets the video is the slow part. Rendering visuals that look like real content (blurred background from the cover, GIF animation, VHS overlay, watermark), scheduling posts to the right YouTube channel, doing it for fifty beats in a batch. If your producer brand lives on YouTube and you care about how the upload looks, that is the bottleneck it removes.
  • JDTB bets the distribution is the slow part. Once the video is rendered, you still have to log into BeatStars, Airbit, SoundCloud, TikTok, Instagram, and TrakTrain, retype the same metadata, render the right shape of video for each social platform, and remember to actually post to all of them. JDTB compresses that fan-out into one upload.

Where Music 2 Tube wins

Music 2 Tube is genuinely strong at the things it sets out to do.

Video customisation

Blurred background from the cover, GIF animation, VHS and grain overlays, custom watermark. If you want the video to look like more than a static image, this is the better tool today.

Multi-channel YouTube uploads

Up to five connected YouTube channels on the Lifetime plan, with scheduling. If you run a network of producer or type-beat channels, that is a real workflow advantage.

One-time Lifetime price

$99 once, never pay again, every feature included. For producers who own their tools rather than rent them, the maths is hard to argue with.

Native desktop app

Runs offline, no browser tab to lose, no extension to install. If you prefer your tools as installed software, that is the experience here.

Audio quality preservation

No re-encoding of your MP3 or WAV. The audio that goes in is the audio that ships, untouched.

Where Just Drop The Beat wins

JDTB makes a different bet: that the platforms beyond YouTube are where producers lose the most hours, and that one upload should reach all of them.

Seven platforms, not one

BeatStars, Airbit, YouTube, SoundCloud, TikTok, Instagram, and TrakTrain from a single upload. Music 2 Tube uploads directly to YouTube only; the others come out as exported video files you post yourself.

Drives marketplace forms with no public API

BeatStars and Airbit have no public upload API. JDTB drives those forms in your own logged-in session through a small Chrome extension, which is the only way to reach them without manual work.

One metadata pass for every platform

Title, BPM, key, tags, description, licences: typed once, mapped to each platform's field shape. No retyping the same fields seven times.

Bulk upload across every platform

Drop a folder of beats and let JDTB run them through every platform, not just render the videos. Reusable upload flows save the metadata patterns for free drops, paid drops, and back catalogue migrations.

Free Starter tier, paid plans under $20

Free Starter covers ten uploads a month across every supported platform with no credit card required. Pro is £10/$14 a month for unlimited uploads, Premium is £13/$18 a month for scheduled releases, watermarks, and priority support.

Which one fits you?

Three honest cases:

  • You only release on YouTube and you care about how the video looks. Music 2 Tube is a strong fit. The overlays, GIF animation, and multi-channel scheduling are real wins for producers whose brand is a YouTube channel (or several). The Lifetime price is good value if you plan to ship videos for years.
  • You sell on BeatStars or Airbit, or release across more than two platforms. JDTB is the better fit by a wide margin. Music 2 Tube does not touch the marketplaces; JDTB drives them in your own session. Add SoundCloud and TrakTrain and TikTok and Instagram, and the time gap is large.
  • You release a lot, and the look of the video matters too. Use both. Render the YouTube video in Music 2 Tube with the overlay you want, then drop the WAV and cover into JDTB to fan out to BeatStars, Airbit, SoundCloud, TikTok, Instagram, and TrakTrain. They are not the same product.

Our verdict

Music 2 Tube and JDTB are both real products, and neither replaces the other cleanly. If your producer brand lives on YouTube and you want the video to look like more than a static image, Music 2 Tube is the right tool, and the $99 Lifetime price is fair. If you want one upload to reach BeatStars, Airbit, YouTube, SoundCloud, TikTok, Instagram, and TrakTrain in one pass, JDTB is the only one of the two that does that, and the free Starter tier covers ten uploads a month with no credit card required. Most producers in 2026 release across more than just YouTube, which is why we built JDTB the way we did. Pick the one that matches the step you are losing the most hours to, or use both.
